What an experience. My husband loves whiskey and for anyone who loves whiskey, you have to come here. It is pretty swanky inside but it was interesting that some of the patrons were in shorts and I even saw teva sandals. Not that you have to "dress up" to the nines but I think there is an appropriate way to dress. Enough of that. Our server was great. She explained the "whiskey bible" and the concept of buying a bottle if you want and keeping it there so anyone you know can come in and drink from it and they get priority seating. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie board a some shrimp cocktail. Both were good. The shrimp were huge and the board was nice with 4 different cheese and meats. My husband tried a few whiskeys and by the way, their prices were very reasonable. I wish we had this type of place in San Diego!! I haven't even gotten to the jazz yet. The group we listened to were great. They played about 45 minutes each season. We would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. Such a cool place.

Memorable, but flawed. Atmosphere was splendid - live music that wasn't too loud, lighting that wasn't too bright or dim, and cozy booths good for cuddling up to your date. Service was mickey mouse: 3 separate people asking to clear our plates or refill our glasses within a 5 minute period, making us feel uncomfortable for staying even though the place was only half-full and it was on an off hour. Food was all over the place: crabcakes were shockingly good, marrow was disappointing (not much meat, and overwhelmed by awful salty breadcrumbs). Scotch and bourbon flights were a mixed bag - nice portions and variety, but none amazed in terms of quality, and you'll spend for the experience.

Amazing selection of whisky, bourbon and other distilled spirits from around the world. Had my new favorite scotch and I enjoyed a generous pour! Service was excellent, the set up and layout of the restaurant bar is perfect for enjoying the food, drink and music from a variety of POVs. The music was good but I hope to return on a Friday or Saturday night when I am hoping the quality and character is better aligned with the quality and character of the venue. I look forward to my next visit.

This place was on my short list of places to pop in for a cocktail because I read that it had a huge whiskey list. A huge whiskey list is quite an understatement- it is massive! We ended up staying longer than planned because a 2 person band playing songs from the 1920s just started up around 5pm and they were fascinating! We had cocktails- one of them the smoked old fashioned I believe. Excellent. We shared a bourbon tasting which was well worth the price. We also had some outstanding fries with truffle salt - I am kind of a fry snob and these were quite good. The bartender- he appeared to be the head bartender- was nice, but also a bit condescending and/or seemed slightly annoyed by us. I have been to NYC many times and I realize this is a common occurrence, the bartender having an attitude, It's just frustrating to me when it happens because my husband and I are such friendly people who tip generously. And for a while, we were the only customers. It left me with a weird feeling. Otherwise it was a great experience and I would return!
